IF YOU APPLIED FOR EXAMINATION BEFORE SPRING 2005 DEADLINES

IMPORTANT: THE BACB WILL BE IMPLEMENTING NEW COURSEWORK ELIGIBILITY STANDARDS THAT GO INTO EFFECT WITH THE FALL 2005 EXAMINATIONS.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, ALL APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED PRIOR TO, OR BY, THE APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR THE SPRING 2005 EXAMINATIONS WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING STANDARDS:

If the application is complete and approved by the BACB by the application deadline for the Spring 2005 examination, the candidate will have two (2) years from the date the application was submitted to sit for the examination. However, if the approved candidate does not sit for the examination by Spring 2005, or sits but does not pass by Spring of 2005, then the candidate will need to take the examination developed under the Third Edition Task List. Note: The Fall 2005 examination and examinations thereafter will be based on the Third Edition Task List, which is different from the Second Edition Task List under which the applicant originally applied and was approved.

If the application is submitted but is incomplete - is not approved for any reason, such as, insufficient course content or supervised/mentored experience documentation - the pending applicant must complete his/her application and all required course work and experience by the application deadline for the Spring 2005 examination. If the pending applicant does not complete his/her application by the application deadline for the Spring 2005 examination, then he/she must reapply under the standards and content requirements in effect for the Fall 2005 examination. Note: The Fall 2005 examinations and examinations thereafter will be based on the Third Edition Task List, which is different from the Second Edition Task List under which the applicant originally applied. The applicant will have to meet the new requirements that go into effect with the Fall 2005 examinations. For the Fall 2005 examination only, pending applicants who must submit an additional application to sit for the Fall 2005 examination will not be charged an additional examination fee. For the Spring 2006 examinations and thereafter, pending applicants will be required to submit the new application and fee.
