EXAMINATION ADMINISTRATIONS

AUGUST 2008 ADMINISTRATION: The testing window for the August 2008 administration is provisionally scheduled for August 4-23.  On-time applications for this administration will need to be received in the BACB office by July 11, 2008.  Exam results for individuals taking the exam during the August 2008 administration will be mailed no later than October 10, 2008.

Please note that delays in application processing may occur as the testing window approaches due to an increased volume of applications being received.  Once applications are approved, testing times and locations will be available on "first come, first served" basis.  We strongly encourage you to apply early so that you will have time to respond to any deficiencies in your application and obtain your preferred testing site and time.  We expect appointment slots to fill quickly. The sooner you schedule, the better your chances will be to schedule your preferred appointment date and time.

Applications for the AUGUST 2008 administrations received by the BACB on or before July, 11 2008 will be considered "on-time" - regular fees will apply.

Applications received after July 11, 2008 must include the $125 late fee in order to be processed for the August administration.
The BACB will review and process late applications containing late fees.  We can not guarantee your application will be approved (it will not be if the application is incomplete) and we can not guarantee that you will have your preferred testing site or time.  All "on-time" applications for the August administrations must be received on or before July 11, 2008.

Applications received after July 11, 2008 that do not include a late fee will be considered early applications for the next administration.

Exam results for individuals taking the exam during the August 2008 administration will be mailed no later than October 10, 2008.  The online Certificant Registry will be updated two weeks after grades are mailed.

NOVEMBER 2008 ADMINISTRATION: The testing window for the November 2008 administration is provisionally scheduled for November 3-22.  On-time applications for this administration will need to be received in the BACB office by October 10, 2008.  Exam results for individuals taking the exam during the November 2008 administration will be mailed no later than January 7, 2008.

Examination Administration Format.  Examinations are administered in a computer-based testing format delivered through the Pearson VUE network of high-security, standardized testing centers.  Person VUE is one of the largest and best-respected high-stakes certification and licensure testing organizations in the world.  P-V specialize in professional and technology credentialing and have an impressive list of clients including Microsoft, Adobe, Agilent Technologies, IBM, Siemens, Sun Microsystems, American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Surgery, Institute of Business and Finance, and many others.  Pearson VUE has over 200 testing sites in the US and over 150 sites outside the US.  The BACB has increased the opportunity for examination by providing three administrations per year rather than the prior two.  Three test windows are scheduled based on university graduation date data to minimize the time between graduation and certification.  Together, these measures greatly increased test access and candidate convenience while significantly reducing travel, lodging and costs often associated examination.
