The BACB mass email service allows organizations associated with the behavior analysis community to communicate with BACB certificants for commercial purposes, such as advertising products, educational/professional programs, or employment opportunities related to behavior analysis. Before applying to use this service, please review the following requirements and considerations.

You may not use this service for any other purpose, including, but not limited to, seeking behavior-analytic services or requesting access to BACB certificants’ personal contact information. This service is not associated with the BACB Certificant Registry, which may not be used commercially.

Please use our Mass Email Support Form if you experience issues submitting a form or have a question about your application. Thank you!

To be considered for this service, please ensure that your BACB Mass Email Application meets the following requirements:

  • The application must be complete and accurate.
  • The Applicant must be an established organization within the behavior analysis community or relevant to it.
    • Individual persons do not qualify as Applicants, and submissions from individuals will be denied.
    • If an individual operates as a business entity (e.g., DBA, sole proprietor), the application must be submitted under the business name; otherwise, it will be denied.
    • Business entities must have an online presence that demonstrates longevity, behavior-analytic relevance, valid contact details, and recognizable branding (e.g., a logo). Applications with suspicious or irrelevant content will be denied.
  • The content of the mass email must be related to behavior analysis and aligned with the selected content type, BACB requirements, and audience. It must be grammatically correct, easy to understand, and free of derogatory, inflammatory, or unethical content, as determined by the BACB.
    • Note: Mass Email Applications containing surveys will be denied without a refund. If you believe your survey may qualify for an exception or are unsure whether your content meets the requirements, please submit an inquiry through the Mass Email Support Form before applying.
  • The content of a mass email may only solicit employment opportunities for BCaBAs, BCBAs, and BCBA-Ds. Inclusion of RBT-related employment content or attempts to target RBTs with employment opportunities will result in a denial with no refund.
  • Any use of BACB trademarks in the mass email content must be properly marked (e.g., BCBA®).
  • Any mention of BACB documents or media must be properly titled and referenced.
  • The mass email mock-up must meet the following requirements:
    • The mock-up must appear exactly as you want it to be sent, including formatting elements such as bold, italics, text alignment, bullets, colors, and tables.
    • The mock-up must be submitted in a format that allows each element to be individually accessed and placed into a template.
    • Text must be at least 8-point font.
    • Hyperlinks must function properly and be clickable (i.e., not embedded within an image).
    • The Applicant must have all copyright permissions for embedded images, which must be in .png, .jpg, .jpeg, and/or .gif formats. Attachments and embedded videos are not permitted.
    • Embedded images may not include interactive elements or screenshots of interactive elements, such as buttons, email addresses, or links. This includes Canva exports. Requests for the BACB to recreate interactive content provided in image format will result in a denial.
    • The email address of the organization responsible for the mass email must be included (i.e., the email address of the Applicant or, in the case of a 3rd-party firm, the party that hired the Applicant).
    • The following mandatory disclaimer must be included in the footer of the content:
      • The BACB’s distribution of this email campaign does not constitute sponsorship, approval, or endorsement of the content provided or the party responsible for it. This campaign was distributed as part of the BACB’s paid mass email system, and unsubscribing will prevent receipt of all future BACB Mass Email Campaigns, regardless of your BACB account settings. Should you unsubscribe, you can resubscribe at https://www.bacb.com/mass-email-inforation/resubscribe/.
  • The Applicant must understand that Follow-Up Campaigns are identical to their original mass email, and their content cannot be changed. Refunds are not provided for canceled Follow-Up Campaigns.
  • The Applicant must respond to BACB communications or a Mass Email Support Form inquiry within the specified time frame and/or in a timely manner. If the applicant does not respond within 10 business days of submitting the application, the application will be closed and not likely eligible for a refund. Refund eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • The Applicant may only have 1 open application at a time.
    • An application is considered open until it has received final approval from the Applicant and is scheduled for delivery.
    • Because Applicants may only have 1 open application at a time, all additional submissions will be denied until the open application is complete. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
  • The Applicant may not schedule more than 1 campaign within 7 days of another, including Follow-Up Campaigns from separate applications.
  • The BACB cannot perform actions outside of its Mass Email Application requirements and processes upon the Applicant’s request. For example, requests for the BACB to sign agreements or contracts, complete documentation, provide internal information, or enroll in specific software or programs, will be denied.

  1. Prepare for submission. To help avoid delays or a denial, please ensure that your application is complete and meets all requirements (see the Application Requirements drop-down for details).
  2. Submit your application and pay the fee. If possible, submit your application at least 10 business days before the requested send date. The BACB will not review your application until the fee is paid. If at any point while completing your application, you are not ready to continue or pay the fee, use the SAVE AND CONTINUE LATER option to save your progress. If you need support, please reach out through the Mass Email Support Form
  3. The BACB reviews your application. Within 3 business days of submission, the BACB will inform you of your application’s approval or denial and next steps.
    Approved Denied
If your application is approved, the BACB will send you a notice of approval and a test email for review. Proceed to the next step. If your application is denied, the BACB will send you a notice of denial with an explanation. To proceed, you must reapply. See the FAQs for details.
  4. If you do not receive a notice of approval or denial within 3 business days, please check your junk mail, spam, and trash folders. If you still cannot find it, please reach out via the Mass Email Support Form.
  5. Note: Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. The BACB may reach out with questions at any point in the review process, so please monitor your email closely and respond promptly.

  6. The BACB builds your email and sends a test for review. Within 4 business days of approval, the BACB will generate a draft email that matches the mock-up or HTML provided in your application. You will then receive a test email for review.
  7. Review the test email and provide feedback if necessary. Carefully review all aspects of the test email, including, but not limited to, the subject line, body text, hyperlinks, images, and “reply to” email address. You must respond within 10 business days; otherwise, your application will be closed with no refund.
  8. Provide final approval. When the test email is exactly as you want it, please inform the BACB so that they can prepare it for delivery. The organization sending the mass email—through you or another authorized representative—must provide final approval. Before approving, remember that this version is final and cannot be altered once sent.
  9. The BACB delivers your mass email. The BACB will attempt to deliver your mass email on the requested send date or within 1 business day; however, this is not guaranteed. If a new date must be set, the BACB will contact you with details.
  10. The BACB delivers your Follow-Up Campaign(s), if requested in your application. Please remember that the content cannot be changed, and refunds are not provided for cancellations.

Please note that the fee structure is specific to your mass email’s target audience. Use the following tabs to select your target audience and learn more.

Q: Why should I use the BACB Mass Email Service?

A: The Mass Email Service allows you to communicate with BACB certificants for commercial purposes, such as advertising products, educational or professional programs, or employment opportunities related to behavior analysis. Restrictions apply. Review the Application Requirements drop-down for details.

Q: Am I eligible to use the BACB Mass Email Service?

A: It depends. Established organizations relevant to behavior analysis may be eligible to use the BACB Mass Email Service. These organizations must submit an application, which the BACB will review to determine whether they meet the requirements.

If you are an individual not affiliated with an organization, or you apply as an individual, you do not meet the requirements of an Applicant and are ineligible to use this service. However, if you operate as a business entity (i.e., DBA, sole-proprietor), you must submit your application under your business name and meet the same requirements as any other organization. This ensures that the BACB reviews your business in the same way it would any other Applicant.

Q: Can I submit multiple applications at one time for delivery throughout the year?

A: Unfortunately, no. As stated in the Application Requirements drop-down, Applicants may have only 1 open application at a time.

Q: My application was denied. What should I do now?

A: Denied applications are closed and cannot be reopened or altered, but you may submit a new application. Before applying, please review the Application Requirements drop-down to help avoid another denial. If you have questions about whether an application would be approved, please use the Mass Email Support Form before submitting an application to avoid a denial without a refund.

Q: Why was my application denied?

A: Your application may have been denied for various reasons, including but not limited to:

  • failure to meet one or more requirements (see the Application Requirements drop-down)
  • failure to reply within the specified time frame
  • requesting the delivery of an academic survey
  • irrelevant or suspicious content

The BACB reserves the right to deny an application for any reason but will always provide a notice explaining why.

Q: Can I get a refund for my denied application?

A: It depends. If your application is denied for failure to meet a requirement, a refund will not be provided. However, if you request a change to your application that affects the fee, the BACB may issue a refund and ask you to resubmit. In either case, you will receive a notice of denial with further details.

Q: I need to make changes to my application, but I already submitted it. What should I do?

A: You may request changes to your application within 2 business days of submission through the Mass Email Support Form. If the requested change to your application alters the fee, the BACB may issue a refund and ask you to resubmit. However, please note that this may result in longer-than-average review times or a denial. Requests made more than 2 business days after submission will be denied without a refund.

Q: I noticed a mistake after my mass email was delivered. Can you fix it?

A: Unfortunately, no. We cannot make alterations or corrections after sending a mass email. That’s why it is essential that the mock-up you provide is exactly as you want it to appear when sent, including all formatting elements. Thoroughly review the final version before approval. As stated in the Mass Email Service Terms and Conditions, the Applicant is solely responsible for the mass email’s design, content, and quality.

Q: I submitted my mass email in HTML and was informed of errors. What happens now?

A: Because the BACB does not provide HTML or CSS support, you must correct and resubmit the code within the specified time frame. Please note that for security reasons we will remove other languages, such as JavaScript, from the code.
